Brief
This was a challenging brief as I had full creative freedom for the new rebrand and rename. I have been a long-term Designer for Henry Birman Design, so my Art Director was comfortable overlooking the design process. The design world is always evolving, so it was time to reflect the multi-disciplinary services we offer. The brief included a rename, typographic identity, stationery and website/blog.
A new website was planned and constructed to showcase the studios updated branding and recent projects. The Art Director and myself were overwhelmed with the final printed stationery.
The project was featured on
www.thisiscollate.com, a well-known international designer archive/blog. This was a massive achievement for Studio HBD and myself. It is also in the running to be entered in the Mohawk Paper show in 2011.
Strategy
We all agreed to rename the company Studio HBD. I selected a very unique and legible typeface without any modification. The strategy behind this brand was to be punchy and to have maximum stand out effect in all environments. Subsequently, the final print was achieved through the use of fluorescent green. Incorporating a clear foil, imposed over grey text, offset the simplicity of the fluorescent green background. An exceptionally high quality stock was used adding to the superior finish of the product.
