Brief

This ceremony at Monash University commemorates the remembered and the survivors of the Jewish Holocaust. The brief was to produce an A5 program for the evening to reflect the lighting of the candles that takes place at the ceremony. Keeping to the client’s budget was also a big factor as they are a non-profitable organisation.

Strategy

My strategy for this project was to use one colour throughout the piece to keep printing costs low. The black & white imagery on the uncoated stock creates a sombre feel and sends emotion and awareness to viewers of all ages. The candle light flame was adapted to the letter ‘o’ in the masthead to signify the importance of the ceremonies tradition. This piece met its criteria and looked appropriate in the context that it was used. Printing costs were kept at a minimum as per the client’s request.
